My NS is thick as hell at the tips (pics) and never chips after 3 years

I just finished waxing my two friends boards (a skate banana and some womens K2 board) and was looking at my brothers k2 darkstar and realized that my NS is at least 50% thicker at the tips. In addition, I have been riding this board since 08 or 09 and the thing almost looks like it could be new (no, I don't ride like a pansy). My brother who just got his darkstar for christmas already has all kinds of dings and chipping around the edges at the tip and tail as did the other k2 and the banana that I was working on (not to mention the banana doesn't even have a metal edge going around the tip and tail which I think its really stupid). Why don't more manufacturers follow this lead and make board that are thicker to increase durability? pics.

It has its pros and cons, i would say if you get a ding on a lib or gnu which dont have the metal lining at tip they would be easier to fix, the NS are more durable but probly harder to fix. I ride this years SL and love it, sold all my lib's but still love libs just starting to realy like like NS

Well I can tell you with certainty that you are incorrect. Like I said earlier my brothers parkstar has only been ridden 6 or 7 days while my NS has been ridden probably 60. We both ride park all day. Also, if the board is heavier than it's only by a small amount because I feel no difference when carrying/riding both. I see plenty of guys throwing big spins off kickers with their NSs too

I don't ride as much as I wish I could because I play college bball but like I said above it's been ridden many more times than my brothers k2. I also have a friend I ride with who has a ride kink and the topsheet is all cracked
He has ridden the same number of days that I have
