Default K2 raygun in hardpack/icy snow?

Picked up a raygun a couple of weeks ago. I guess I should have done some more searching but the price was so good I jumped on it.

The area I live in and board in (nj and pa) is mostly hard packed snow / icy conditions.

From what I hear it seems like the raygun is not ideal for hardpacked/icy conditions.

I would go out and just try to test it but, my hand is broken so I might miss the rest of the season completely or catch the last few weeks of the season if my hand heals well.

Wondering if I should just return it now b4 the return policy passes or will it be ok for hardpacked/icy conditiOns.

Thanks in advance

It sucks on hardpack unless you're really aggressive with turn initiation. Straight-up rocker boards are not good on hardpack, and Raygun is relatively soft as well.

I love mine, but I'm riding in Montana and I've only seen one hardpack day this year.

Hmm, maybe the raygun isn't for me then.

I'm still a beginner/intermediate.

Wondering if the never summer boards would be bEtter choices.

I have a Raygun and live in Oregon. It is a great board but the only complaint I have about it, is its performance on hardpack or ice. I would think magnatraction would be good for that
