considering the TR Lib banana Hammock.

hey all
I am considering the 164.5 Travis Banana Hammock. I am only planning to use this for cat skiing as I have a 160 Lynn for all mountain. my question is this. what is this board like?? the site say do not buy?!? but I really like the idea of the shape.

are the pros using this in the back country at all? have any of you folks used it in the pow?

thanks all

I have only ever seen Rice use it a little in TI,TA and don't here really anthing about it from anyone.

If you want a pow specific board you're better off with a Charlie Slasher, Nitro Slash, Arbor Abacus, or a Salomon Sickstick. All those are designed with really only pow in mind but have sidecuts in case you run into some not so deep stuff on the way back to the cat.

super surfy with maximum float. I've seen a couple guys riding these inbounds and got back to lift fine, not making carves just skidding turns. Dont be afraid its the ultimate powder board for a reason.

I have ridden Reverse sidecut, it is awesome in the deep....Make sure there are no sketch couloirs with icy drop in entrances or you might be on your ass.

I think any R/R needs to have something else, maybe a puck or something out on the contact points to give it some bite when you need it. Rocker and Reverse sidecut could be a lethal combo in the wrong hands.

well I do have my 160 lynn and this would just be my other board. I really only plan to use this for Cat skiing. I agree it would be sketchy on groomers and ice. My brother has ridden pontoon skis for a few years and he said they are not great on the groomers but none better in the pow.

Its like straight skis. But you only have one.

I don't know if its production or made to order or not available at all, but be on the lookout for the Signal Experimental. Really rad shape. Basically just a shallow sidecut between the feet. Nothing outside the feet, just straight.
