I was looking at my snowboard today and looked at the bottom edge of the board. I noticed that the metal edge looked to be missing a piece? Or looks chipped? It's almost as if though the metal edge is not completely around the board and as if though there is a gap in the metal edge.
The thing is that I haven't even opened the shrink-wrap from this board yet. Only the bottom and the top of the board has the shrink-wrap exposed (I guess the store where I bought it from has the top and bottom exposed for some reason?). Bought it a month ago and haven't had a chance to ride it (broken hand )Is this normal or a defect?? Sorry for the blurry pics. I only have a camera phone and it's the clearest I can get it. ![]() ![]()

perfectly normal. thats where the 2 ends of the medal edge meet. They meet at the nose or tail because those 2 areas dont come in direct contact with the snow. Usually they fill the gap with ptex or epoxy. If its not filled with anything then i would fill it if i were you.

nope there wont be any issues. the only thing i could imagine happening is snagging your glove on it or something. All my boards came with that gap filled smooth with epoxy, and i just assume they did it for a reason

Just wondering, do some boards come with it filled and others don't? Depends on the company? |
