i need help buying a park board - Snowboarding Forum

i used to spend all my time jut carving down the mountain till one of my friend pulled me into a park. i spent the whole day there and now i cant stay out of it. im looking for a new board cause mine is too stiff. i am 5'10", 175, and size 10.5 boots. im buying it with my tax return so the price isnt that big of a deal. thanks.

You leaning more toward jumps, jibs, or both?

ok, if your also looking to do some jumps, I say stay away from really, really soft boards. These can wash-out when landing jumps. The K2 WWW and Rome Artifact are among the softest decks on the market. They are designed almost exclusivly for jibbing/rails/butters/etc. The Ride Kink is also a really soft board, but I don't think it is AS soft as those two. I think a few people on here have the Kink, they might be able to give you some first hand info that I can't. All this said, I'd recomend going for something soft, but not too soft, if your looking to also hit jumps. Check out the various web sites of the manufactors, and just stay away from decks that are extremely soft...

Totally in the same situation. The last time i went up, i hit the park for the first time. Now i can't stop thinking about it

My grades are dropping because all i can think about everyday is snowboarding.

Burton Twin is medium stiffness as far as park boards go. If you're looking for something with magnetraction or banana check out the Lib Tech TRS, which is pretty stiff which would be good for bigger kickers but still suitable for all around park use.

the park boards i recommend are the santa cruz jon kooley, k2darkstar, salomon scout, rome agent, libtech skate banana, capita stairmaster, burton se7en, or forum youngblood. my top picks are the santa cruz and the k2. no shorter than 150 and no longer than 155. something shorter will be better for rails, and longer will be better for kickers.
