Hey guys im currently riding a 2009 burton custom 157W. Im 5'11 150-160lbs 11-11.5 boots. The guy at my local ski shop when i brought it in for a tune up said the board was not for me. He told to me that i should be riding a 162. Is that correct? If i were to buy a new board what should i get? Im more of a relaxed rider that just loves to go down the mountain carving. Nothing too serious like hard turns but more like cruising down a nice green or blue and going by ppl. Im not much of a speed demon also. thanks.

162 seems a little big, but with a 11.5 boot you don't really need a wide. My park board is a 156 and I weigh 185, and have no problem outside of the park with it, except deep powder. I'd say if you like your current board there's no need to change it.

Theres nothing wrong with my board i think. its probably just the thought of something new that makes me want to buy it. I think the only problem with my board is that i cant seem to link my turns sometimes its not that effortless to carve on.

you dont necessarily need a wide board. if your having trouble carving then i bet its due to the wide board. If you really want to buy a new board that isnt wide then go for it. i wouldnt go 162 like the shop guy said though.

say if i went with a board like this Never Summer Premier F1 Snowboard 2011
which size would suit me. i see that the width on the 157 is 24.9 but according to frostyrider it says i need at least a 25. Thanks in advance |
