How fast does a board lose its pop?

Hey there, gonna get my hands on a '10 Horroscope for 50$.

It's reaaally banged up though, nose is blown out and the base looks like it has been ridden on gravel.

All the stuff is repairable, I'll do that myself.

But just wondering if a board can lose its pop in 1 year of intense use?

Thanks.

Depends on the construction method.

Yep, some lose it faster than others. A good quality board should retain it's pop for quite some time.

A stiff cambered stick will probably hold it's pop the longest. My '08-'09 NS Heritage doesn't feel like it's lost an ounce of pop where as my '09-'10 NS Evo has lost a noticeable amount of pop with a similar number of days.

Boards gain pop as you ride them.

Every board loses pop from day 1. FYI Lamars seem to keep their pop longer than some other highly mentioned american made brands around here. I think the Chinese put MSG in their boards.
