Which size pow board should I get? - Snowboarding Forum

Hey I'm thinking about picking up a Capita Charlie slasher for my pow board, I'm 5'8" and 180, would you guys recommend the 158 or 164? Thanks!

I'm 5'11" 190 or so and went with the 164.

It depends on what you're riding. Are you hitting primarily open bowls or are you hitting lots of trees. I don't have any problem throwing the 164 around.

Mainly tree runs, I currently ride a 156 as my all mountain board, and a158 just doesn't seem like that big of a jump for a pow board.

It's a pow stick. Raised big shovel nose and a stiffer tapered tail. Trust me, it would float you just fine. It's not just about the size. If you're doing mainly tree runs, I'd stick with the 158.

Man that's a tough call, is the 164 very hard for you to throw around? What do you mainly ride, trees or big bowls?

Another question, what do you guys think of the Rome notch, anybody have this board or rode in powder?

I'm 5'6" and 180, went with the 164 slasher...works just fine trees/bowl/chutes, infact seems just a tad small on really deep poo like 24+", my regular crusier boards are a 158 freeride option and 159 banana. imo, in deep trees...got to float that shit...it sucks to be too short and hiking/swimming in the woods.

I ended up getting the 164 charlie slasher, i just wanna say i love this board so far, does great on the groomers getting to and from the pow, i rode it twice this week in these insane tahoe storms and it floats pretty well, but your right almost feels a little small in the really deep stuff we have been getting in tahoe this last week.
