Default Banana Magic

I'm looking for some insight on what size banana magic I should get. I'm 5'8" 175 lbs, I hit mostly groomers, backcountry and a lot of jumps, but I'm not huge on jibbing. My previous board was a 156 Burton custom I've had since 2006. I'm an intermediate-advanced rider, however, I've rode 156s since I was young so I've never really had to think about getting something other than a 156. Since the magic is only offered in 152, 157, and 158W. Is the 157 my obvious choice?

If your not into jibbing and you going to use it for backcountry and jumps, then yes a 157 looks like an obvious choice.

Boot size? But yea, most obviously going to be looking at the 157, it's what I ride! They only make the two sizes plus the wide, until next year that is... Just rode the new binding setup with the board last weekend at HomeWood and am going up for one final hurah this weekend, super fun times.

I have size 10 boots, so I don't think the 158w is a good idea. What kind of bindings do you have on your magic?

Flow NXT-AT-SE, Scotty Lago's bindings. Really nice set of rear entries that are perfect for all mountain or freeriding and won't break the bank. Got mine for 2 bills. The color scheme compliments the board ridiculously well too. They are fairly stiff but with that the response and feedback you get are unreal.

I really think you should get a 156. Oh poop it doesn't come in a 156. Darn. Oh hey, the 2012 Destroyer Doubledog does! Lucky you! If you buy that new you'll save yourself $200 over an on sale 2011 Banana Magic! YAY......

Overpriced?

Well I just ordered my banana magic for $420, which I'm certainly not going to complain about. In addition, your review of the doubledog didn't exactly sell me. You didn't make it seem like it was a stellar board, and the flex seems way too soft for me. I guess in my words I'm looking for a stiffer skate banana (I love the magne-traction and reverse camber) with tons of pop, which i exactly what the banana magic is. I'm not sure how much the doubledog costs but it doesn't really seem like a board for me anyways.

Not all negative reviews are meant to say the board is bad. Usually just means that the board doesn't suit the rider reviewing it.

Nivek stated that he likes the Destroyer. I think you mistook it for the Youngblood. He said that board just doesn't suit his style.
