Default westmark vs blacklist

For those of you who have been able to demo the two I just wanted to get an opinion. I do 50% park(mostly small/medium jumps, only a few boxes/rails), 50% all mountain, rarely pow. I had a DH2 last year and liked it (stable/good pop), but wanted something a bit more playful. Also, is the westmark construction this year diff from last year or is it just the graphics.

Just graphics.

The Westmark is going to be a little poppier and a little more stable while the Blacklist will be more playfull. Both awesome. there are reviews of both for 2012 on angrysnowboarder.

How big of a difference is there between the two on flex? Would you say it is more flexible than the flow era? I'm still debating between the two because the blacklist is midwide and the smallest is a 154 and the graphics in my opinion are not as cool as the wood finishes on the westmark and other boards.

You'll probably only notice the flex difference if you're a little talented on jibs to be honest. Me and BA could tell in like 3 turns but we ride quite a few different boards a year.

The mid width isn't an issue, I wear a size 9. If you're 140 or more than the smallest being a 154 isn't an issue either. If you're smaller than that just get a Westmark, or even a 2012 Flow Verve. They stiffened it up a little bit and to be honest I enjoy the sidecut Flow uses on EZ and I-rock more than System. System grips better, but Flows is just ridiculously smooth and versatile. I think the Westmark is a better board, but if you have a smaller budget the Verve is a really solid choice.

I rode the flow era last year and wasn't a fan im just trying to get a flex comparison. I weigh 140 and my boot size is around 10 to 11. I just really like the westmark design over the blacklist but I want a better board over better design...

Are you concerned with riding powder on it at all? And do you jib more or jump more?

There is hardly ever powder in Michigan but I will be going to Colorado for a week and I am not big on the jumps but that is just due to a lack of jumps where I ride. I do a lot of the jibs but that is where I am looking to make the most progress. That and buttering. I know the blacklist is a little more flexible but is it a big enough difference to make a difference in my riding?

If you're looking to mess around on small midwest shit then the coda will likely be more board than you would need, except on your trip to CO.

You probably wont notice enough of a difference in Westmark and Blacklist to make one way more fun than the other. If you just want the looks of the Westmark but are worried about you're trip to CO, get the 153. It will still be plenty playfull and fun to jib as the Blacklist, but with a hair tighter pop and response.
