I need some help figuring out which board to go with, or some advice on comparing the ride of each deck. I've been riding for 12 years and last year I picked up a Lib-Tech T.Rice 157 (MagTrac) with some Flux Advance bindings. A few weeks ago I won a K2 Zeppelin 156 and I threw some Burton Cartels on it. I was going to keep them both, but I'm broke as a joke, and I'm going to have to sell one in order to pay my rent.
I go out west on average twice a year, but I'm currently stuck in the ice-prone midwest. I like riding all-mountain, from backcountry pow, bowls and gaps, to groomed runs, to the park. I also do competitive boardercross. I've taken them both out twice, and I can't figure out which one I should keep. With variables like changing snow conditions from hour to hour, loosening/tighter boots I'm finding it difficult to accurately compare the two. It seemed like the K2 might be faster (good for boardercross), however I think I was feeling more comfortable landing jumps on the Lib Tech (which is equally important for boardercross). Do you think this is b/c I've ridden the LibTech for a year already, or might it just be a better board for me? Would the K2 be faster? I've seen the LibTech listed as a freestle board, and I'm not a freestle-only rider, but does that listing mean anything? Finally, could the bindings be making a large difference? (they are both toe-cap and I've got Vans Encore boots). Sorry for the super long post, but any advice on a good way to compare the two, so I can choose the right one to keep, would be much appreciated. Oh, I'm 5'10-5'11 and 165-170 lbs |
