Default HELP! got a POW BOARD question (trs VS slack)

Hey guys. new here, been lurking around for a few days and LOTS of great info - so I had to sign up.

Anyhow - some stats. From Ontario. 5'10" 190ish lbs. boots size 11. Very Athletic - but an old man at 36 ;-) been riding 4 years and I consider myself an aggressive intermediate. Currently I ride a solomon official 158 and I love this board. I am a goofy rider BUT I love riding switch and tend to be about 70% regular and 30% switch. I have found I enjoy a perfectly centered stance (no setback) 15,-15.

I am looking for a board that will keep me rocking the pow but allows me to keep the option of riding powder switch. I FULLY REALIZE that in doing so, I limit my capabilities in powder by having a centered stance/wanting to ride switch. Im cool with that (to a certain extent)- and I dont mind setting back a bit if I have to. I actually took my official on some powder (with my centered stance) and found I had to lean back like a gangster in an audi just to keep me afloat - which it barely did. I am NOT looking for a "PURE" powder board with a massive set back/taper. I am willing to sacrifice some performance in the groomed sections of the hill, but either way I will have to GET to the powder and I dont want to be limited and frustrated on my board until I hit the fluffy stuff. I still wanna have fun all over.

I am thinking about either the Ride Slack Country or the LibTech TRS. the reasons are as follows: I've heard the slack country (although directional) still performs well when riding switch in powder and wont leave you pissing and moaning when not in the deep stuff. The TRS sounds great because it is a True Twin and supposedly a "quiver killer" (But I doubt that).

So, any suggestions? Also, would I have to go with a longer board than my current 158?

wow, that's alot of info. i should just start by THANKING anyone who even reads my entire thread ;-)

thanks!!!

Marc

Signal Omni, Arbor Coda, Flow Drifter, K2 Happy Hour, or a Ride Berzerker.

Omni is built true twin and drilled directional, so it works either way. Coda is a directional twin all mountain killer. Drifter is last years Infinite I-Rock, really solid board for a good price. Happy hour is a poppy true twin with stabby tips, and the Berzerker is Blauvelts shred sled.

Nivek that flow infinite irock can be had for super cheap. You say it's good in the pow? I want a cheapo pow board i can tote around on trips just in case a pow day arrives.

The Coda comes in 157 and 161. I'm thinking (given my stats - 5'10 @190- and the fact that my main use for this is powder) that the 161 would be optimal?

Yeah It makes for a pretty good all mountain board. I think you'll find yourself riding it for more than just pow.

Yeah I would shoot for the 161.

That's all I was asking for in the bump. The reason.
