Seriously though I wouldn't worry about it. It's a bit of a change, but with rocker boards being so much easier to turn and handle, you should be fine. It'll take a little adjusting but I think overall you'd like it. The resort decks I ride are normally around 161. My split decks are all 166 or longer. The only exception being my SL but it's a wide deck so I make up the length with girth. I hear girls like that too...

No seriously tho.. who makes a rocker split? and off topic but just curious.. I rode the Burton flying V during the USO this season.. it was my first time riding a rocker board I was riding it on hardpacked groomers.. the board definitely turned easily but when charging at high speed I thought it felt a bit squirrely compared to my C2. Now that I'm migrating off the ice coast think I should give the rocker another whirl? Or just stick to what I like. Do you think rocker has a much bigger pow advantage.

Voile Mojo has a rocker nose, regular camber between the feet I believe. This is the budget board for most people. It's light and Voile backs up their product so it's a good buy.

Neversummer splits use their Rocker Camber profile. I consider it to be one of if not the best for downhill riding in the bc. You can tackle all sorts of terrain and conditions. Great powder performance, icy steeps are well handled.

Venture does rocker tip tail with flat between the bindings. Best float in powder I've had. Also one of the best for skinning.

Prior, K2, and Jones have their own rocker type profiles too. In fact, almost all of the splitboard makers are doing some sort of alternative camber deck these days.

As far as demos go, check these guys out. The BackCountry

They are in Truckee and I believe they do demos in winter.

Oh and to answer your question, I would definitely go with a rocker model of some sort. They all ride fine, it's just a different ride than a traditional camber deck. Once you get the swing of it, I doubt you'll want to go back.

Yeah went to camber/rocker last season and love my board. Guess I just needed to get the hang of the rocker when I demoed it to get rid of the squirrely feeling? but I mean on the other hand I think it was more the fact that the board wasn't designed to do well at high speed.

That's alright. I'm not looking for hard dicks. If I was I'd become a stripper and move to Vegas.. Hard decks on the other hand.. nah never mind I'm not really looking for those either. I enojoy some flex.

But knowing you're into hard dick.. I'm sure you're really enjoying yourself out in CO. I hear there's plenty to go around. Have fun with that.

Old School

The DIY spitkits are pretty easy, they come with good instructions but you have to have access to a good saw (I used a table saw with a jig), a dremmel, a drillpress (or regular drill but its harder) and some good woodworking skills. The spitty I made a couple years ago was an old Salomon and it's holding up great. Add some skins and your off and climbing, skins are expensive though ($150 for a good set if I remember right).
