Wasn't last year one of the biggest years yet for resorts?

Economy doesn't seem to play a huge roll in peoples vacations.....

Big companies are making record profits and we're just sucking it up and doing the work of 2 for the price of one. We've become illegal immigrants

The snowsports industry seems sheltered because people need that release from the stress. I saw a chick walking down main street Breck today with a board, boot, binding set up.

addicts are addicts...no effect from economy

weekend warrior...maybe has to make some choices

a local 1-5 times/season...probably some pinching

a holiday resort fly in rider...already planned

new rider's...parent sponsered or just graduated from college and feel rich

I'd say us bums and addicts are going to get our fix and the holiday folks probably have disposable income so doesn't effect them much. However last year as a ski bus chaperone definitely less new riders and in general less folks on the hill. As long as the pass holders keep the lifts running...well....less is more

My son and I longboard around vail with our snowboards just hoping for snow too. I keep my spare snowboard in my locker @ the hospital just in case too.

I would love to buy new gear every season but the problem I have is that I live in UK and so only get to go away one or two weeks a year and can't really justify £400 on a new board. Doesnt mean that I dont pour over the new gear like a junkie but I really have to talk myself from NOT buying it !!

I live by the 2012 philosophy! j/k I have spent quite a bit this year on snowboarding which I will tone down on next season but I have no regrets. I had a lot of fun. I will just have to figure out how to have fun without having to get on big trips. I will need pretty much all new gear, though.
