Default Board for a Rugby Player

Hey guys new member here been enjoying all the information that this site has to offer. I am looking into buying my first snowboard sometime in the near future and need a little help. Like any first time buyer I'm guessing I am a little overwhelmed thats why I came here looking for people that may have experince with certain boards that could point me in the right direction.

Experience: 4 or 5 years off and on riding.
Height: 6'2
Wt:230
Shoe Size:12
Riding style: All mountain
Allowance: 400

If anyone has some advice or experience with a bigger board/setup I would appreciate the advice.

Due to your shoe size and weight I would be looking into a wide board with at least medium stiffness to give you some stability. Wide boards will often be a bit stiffer as well so you can ride a smaller size if you prefer. It really depends on preference obviously, but I would suggest a 157 minimum and up to maybe a 163.

Something like this 159 Ride DH Wide from Dogfunk would be a good all mountain ride, with decent stability.

Your size isn't abnormal, and the board doesn't care if you play rugby.

You'll want a board in the 164-166 length range

The region you ride and your style of riding will dictate what type of board to get.

Park, Freeride, etc.

I'm assuming you're not much into park

I ride everything but far less park riding so I chose a Never Summer Heritage as my do it all board. Picked up a Never Summer Revolver as a play around board for while my girl is learning to shred.

If you're hard on things, get a Never Summer. 3 year warranty and industry leading tech and workmanship.

Just made you sound like you didn't know what you were talking about...

There's a ton of guys who ride in your weight class. Rugby player or not

Really you could use the search feature and figure out what you need
