Default Travis Rice signed both of my boards! Now how do I protect the signature?

When I went to the Seattle Art of Flight Premier Meet-and-Greet at Quiksilver, Travis Rice signed both my 2010 153 T-Rice Pro and 2012 157 T-Rice Pro boards. I'm totally stoked, but I'm not quite sure how to protect the signature. I was thinking of either using a clear coat or epoxy. However I have heard a clear coat will need buffing and re-application. Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this stuff? Thanks.

Don't ride them?

Or, take bindings off, go to a sign shop and get them to put a clear laminate over the top, the stuff they use for vehicle graphics would be perfect... Might cost you but hey, dems the breaks

Oh yeh, don't cheap-out and only cover the sigs. It'll look shit. Do the whle board and there won't be any seams.

Capisce?

how much does the sig mean to you? Boards makes good wall art.. hell people easily spend hundreds on wall art.

Personally I would hang the 2010 as wall art, and see what you can get for the 2012. Who knows you might get enough to buy you two new boards, but then again I have no clue what these things go for.

Either don't ride them or don't expect the signature to stay. I'd wall them both.

Marker is similar to solvent ink that you'd use for vehicle wrap prints... the vehicle laminate has a uv block component and would provide a layer of physical protection... as I said. Tah dah!

Yup, you'd risk the board getting 'used' but if you do want to ride em the sigs would last as long as the board does

Yeah, a lot of my friends have told me to not ride them, but these are my only two boards. I can't just drop another $1300 on boards. I'm sure either board would go for well over $1000, but I'm just not sure if I want to sell them. Hmm...

ride the fuck out of them... its a snowboard. not a f*cking rookie rugby card. com'on.
no one is going to pay you half of what you paid for the board originally Especially if they can just get their board signed for free the next time dood rolls through. let alone 1000 dollars. ill give you 1000 doll hairs.

Not worth something now. In ten to twenty years from now, it could be a much different story.

If you want to preserve the signature, you're going to have to preserve the boards. I.E. not riding them. They'll be worth more in good condition anyway.

Get a new board this season, and buy your second next year. Or forget it and just ride the heck out of the boards. If the signature is still there after the season is over, then sweet. If not, oh well.

Not sure what else to tell you.
