Default the pants to jacket interface

what exactly is this? is this just some sorta button or strap that keeps the jacket and pants attached? if i buy, say ride pants and a burton jacket, will this not work for me? i only have a jacket right now and i dont see any sort of "interface"

I rock Volcom jacket and pants, and they zip together, especially good for powder days, you don't get snow down your pants or up your shirt. Zippers > buttons IMO.

The Never Summer SL-R is the best all mountain board I have been on... Ever.
Buy it... Ride it... Love it...

The burton one, at least up to 08, is a set of clips that attach to 3 belt loop horizontal loops. helps wonders if you wipe out, and your jacket doesn't ride up to the point to get snow into your pants or under your skirt.
(I have pre 08 jacket and pants by Burton)

The 08 I think is also a zipper or something similar, but I'm not sure.

[edit]p.s.: my cheapo lamar jacket also have the same jacket clips as the burton one, but I'm not sure if they match the locations on the pants.
