Depends on where u live really, anywhere where ur on huge mts and ur in deep snow a little longer will be better, if your looking into going to the park and ur not on big mts u need a little bit shorter board. For being a beginner overall shorter is better, easier to control. I would say get anywhere from a 150-154 try to stay at the lower end, but u dont wanna get one too short, it could easily snap or damage the board. Hope this helps!

flow verve..... or the era, cant remember lengths of these boards but somewhere in the 152-156 range I would say. Verve is more park oriented and era is all mountain freestyle.... so either one would suit you!
