Default Calling All Coda Riders!

I wont be getting the opportunity to test a Coda in the UK so Iím looking for advice from those that have. Iím looking at a Coda or maybe a Never Summer SL Ė something with rocker, more playful and freestyle orientated than my cambered (and quite stiff) Arbor Element. I know the Coda rides well in powder, but what Iím left wondering about itís all mountain freestyle performance.

Iíve heard the flex is comparable to an SL, even that itís got more flex than the Element, although Arbor say different. Iíve seen it advertised as an all mountain freestyle board as well as freerideÖ.

I like the sound of Arborís continuous rocker for buttering about and would definitely downsize from a 158 (165lb size 11 US) to a 155. Arbor have told me to look at the Blacklist or Westmark instead, and I have. Iíve ridden a 154 Proto and had great fun on it, also a 158 SL and not as much fun, but still I keep coming back to the Coda. Love this years graphics and the fact I can get it cheaper than any of the other boards.

Are there any riders who can tell me about the flex and playfulness of this board? Does anyone use it for all mountain freestyle rather than charging hard? Donít get me wrong, I hope to do both, but am hoping the Coda will be more fun, easier to spin and butter etc than my existing setup.
Thanks.

Flex wise, it's pretty similar to the Proto. It's a really playful board, lightweight, and has tons of pop. For what you're looking to do, it's a great choice.

BA had one as his personal deck. He's a whole mountain as the park kinda rider and really liked it for that.

Thanks for the replies, it sounds like it'll do what I need.

Size wise - is it true it rides long?
I'm 5'11, 165lb, size 11 US, normally riding a 158. Definately looking to go down to a 155 for playfulness, but considering the 153 if it does ride long. Is the 153 too far?

I would go with the 155 if you treat the whole mountain as a park. I don't think it rides like a bigger board. It's not a board you have to muscle around.

Hey guys,

Looking for an Arbor to use almost exclusively as my backcountry stick... I'm 6'1, about 185lbs, and rock US9 boots. Should I go for a Coda in 161 or 165, or perhaps the Roundhouse RX (midwide) 162?

Thanks in advance.
