Had this board in the attic for a couple years, a small piece of the left metal edge chipped off on one of my trips. Was thinking about giving it to a friend to ride. Would it be fine to ride or is that an important contact point? He is still a beginner, don't want to ruin his trip by giving him a messed up board.

From the pictures that doesn't even look like a chip in the edging, just looks like someone did a crappy p-tex job and slopped some over the edge. Either way, I'd say it's perfectly fine to ride.

That section of the board is safe from such a small bit of edge missing. Should be fine to ride all season. It appears to be far up enough past the contact point not to worry about it catching. Of course if he is a buttering, nose rolling fool then chances increases of damage. But like the other posters stated shouldn't be a problem.

Looks like the 08 (?) TRS. I have the same board except with MTX. From the coloring of this board it is either without MTX or a very rare 08 TRS w/ BTX.
I wouldn't worry about any missing edge on the tip or tail. |

I wish the TRS still looked like that, it looked so much better then than it does now. |
