Difference between guys' boards and girl's boards?

I've always wanted to know what the big difference is between the two. I know the designs are different (no sh*t) but is the board made any differently? and I'm not saying compare two completely distinctive boards.. Thanks!

Some companies it is, some not. Read and ask questions if you are considering one.

Like the dude below me said, flex being the main thing DIFFERENT. Every brand treats the ladies boards differently.

I've never looked into it in detail, but I remember reading that the rider weight to board length ratio for women's boards is where main difference lies. Since girls on average tend to have a lighter frame than guys, it'd make sense to make their boards less stiff in comparison.

While on the subject, I have an old 143 santa cruz snowboard from like '99/'00, would this be fine for my girlfriend to learn on and use for sometime till she gets the hang of it? I don't see why not, but figured while were talking differences here...
