The right board for CO trip - Snowboarding Forum

hey forum

This winter a friend of mine is taking me along for my first trip to CO. My main hill is a small pos that takes 30 seconds to get from top to bottom but I have been a bigger places that take a few minutes to go from top to bottom. I'm 185 lbs and 5ft 10 and ride a 156 Rome Crail. A little small but it works just fine for the dinky riding I do. I would like to get the Capita Quiver killer size 159.

Reasons I want the board
40% Upgrade
30% CO Trip
20% More stability
10% Being a gear whore

I would like to know if I would be fine in CO with the smaller board...
Any reasons i should/shouldn't get the new board??

Going to do?

Looking to do?

Are you going to ride park in CO?

Are you going for pow?

Are you looking to just cruise?

Any reason you're looking to get the Capita?

We are going to freeride grooms and powder. Want to do some of the diamond runs. We will most likely try to ride as much of the Mountains as we can. Except the park, neither I or my friend know how to do anything, possible we go into the beginner parks We are going to Vail and Beaver Creek. I like what Capita does and want to try something different than Burton or Rome, Should I not look at the Quiver Killer? Im pretty sure that board got good wood the year before.

Spend the dough on something else, and save some it to pay to demo a pow board if you get a pow day.

speaking of demo boards..if you go to the capita site you can buy the boards they used at demos, the quiver killer new is 303$ and from capita if i get it used its 215$...do demo boards just get the shit beat out of them or are they still ok? they give it a rating of 8/10...

They are great decks, I bought a BSOD, and it was "new", but a demo.

No blown edges, but there might be a deep scrape, core shot, or something, nothing that hurts. Quiver Killer is nice.
