Default First Board?

Hi,

I'm looking at getting my first set of snowboarding gear.
I live in Perth, Western Australia.

I will be heading to Japan for a few weeks in january, and wanted to have my own board this time.
All the previous times (about 3 weeks total) i have just hired gear.

I am about 175/180cm tall and weight 65 kg's, shoe size 9.5

Been looking around a little bit, and was thinking about buying a Bataleon Whatever 156.
How does that sound?

The TDT sounds interesting, and im pretty keen for an all round board that i can use all over the world. Probably wouldnt be going back to Japan again for quite a while.

Any advice or tips would be helpful.

Thanks

Hey buddy,
I live in Perth W.A. as well and will be there the same time as you! If you are going for your first board and want to make the best of Japan I suggest going for an Arbor Coda or NS SL. Feel free to PM me and I can tell you the online stores that will ship to Aus for those particular products

I was really interested in a Bataleon board.
Although i havent checked if they can be shipped over here.

Japan would probably just be a once off thing, so im looking for an all rounder that would be suitable anywhere.

Thanks for the suggestions though, i will have a look at them.

I live in Perth WA aswell
I will be in Japan all December up and until the 5th of January. If you head over before I leave shoot me a PM maybe we can catch up.
With the currency doing so well you could do what i did and order through Chris Benneton in America.

cheapsnowboards4u@gmail.com

I got 32 Lashed Boots, Union Bindings and a Gnu Board all delivered for around $900.
Not bad considering the boards at mainpeak etc are around the $800 mark before bindings and boots (another $700 ontop of that)

Alternaitvely Mainpeak will run there carpark sale sometime this month. They had bugger all stock in last years boards (they discount last seasons gear) and all the boots were sizes 9.5 and smaller. Otherwise perhaps look at brands that will allow international shipping and grab those.
