Default Skate Banana 153w or 156w?

I'm undecided between the 153w and 156w Skate Banana, I know normally I would go with the 156w but after reading some reviews I've found that supposedly you can go a little smaller with the Skate Banana and still be good. Plus according to the specs from Lib Tech the 153w is a little bit softer as well.

I'm around 175 lbs, I have a size 12 boot, and I'm mainly a freestyle rider. I usually hit the park or play around on the groomers for most of the day.

I'm coming off a Ride Crush 156w that was a great board but it just didn't have the flex that I was looking for. Also, I think the shape of the Crush added to my disliking of it. The pro-rise rocker combined with the general stiffness of the board made it hard to butter, spin, and press.

What do you guys think for the Skate Banana, 153w or 156w? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm 170 lbs and have a 159 skatebanana, id say it has a soft allmountain flex. The crush is supposed to have a soft flex so a skatebanana of the same size will have a similar flex. The rocker on the banana makes buttering easier then rides profile. Sound like you want a noodle so get the 153. I don't believe in the downsize upsize thing it rides like any board will.

Yeah you should be good to go with a 153, Im 170lbs and ride a 152 stepchild sucks board. Assuming mines a little stiffer than the banana though. I think you'll like the 153

That's kind of where I was leaning but I just wasn't sure. You're just a little bit smaller than me and you're on a 152 so I should be good. Thanks!

I'm 195 on a 159 and I so wish it was shorter but I'm doing it with what I got. Go 153 especially if you ride in the park a lot, I think you will be real happy with it.

Thanks for the help, I'm definitely grabbing the 153!

So evidently I've gained 10 lbs, do you think that will make a big difference?

Not in the slightest.
