Sorry if this has been covered to death elsewhere, couldn't find the exact answer:

Should I get my new Never Summer Proto CT waxed before I take it out the first day? Or is factory wax fine? I'm not super anal about this stuff. I'd just be bringing it to the guys at the shop at our local tiny hill.

Wax it! Buy all the items you need to wax with for under $20 and save yourself money, go to walmart or any thrift store. You can search for the guide, I'm too lazy to provide links

Actually, Never Summer is one of the few companies that has a good factory wax job. That saucer wax is good stuff

Factory wax is just a rolled on wax. It protects it for selling it, but it is not a true hot wax. Do a hot wax and scrape, repeat, enjoy.

Do you have to use a base cleaner to get the factory stuff off or do you just hot wax over it?

It does not matter much,but you could use a base cleaner.....but I would just do a hot scrape, easier on the base material. I rarely use base cleaner unless the conditions were really dirty (tons of pollen, or dirt). Hot scrape is "fun" and easy IMO.
