intriguing free board offer.please help/identify

hi there all.

I recently bought a Ride snowboard from ebay and in trying to identify it,contacted the ride customer services guy who subsequently offered me a swap for an 07/08 board and it just seems a bit unusual that someone would want the old board and be willing to swap for a pricey new board.

the front logo says 1580 across the top and snow board across the centre.

Should i swap?

Is there any chance it's worth a small fortune or is he likely to be just a fan/collector who wants it for the sake of history/posterity???

seems one of those "too good to be true" kinda deals to me.

Any thoughts please.

ta very much.

I'd be interested to hear his answer on why he would swap a new one for it. I'm with you, it makes you wonder if it is collectible. Keep us posted.

offer on the table

hi again.

hes offered me a fleetwood or a havoc.

any idea what public opinion is on these?

if they're good boards it cant work out too bad can it.

Im getting mixed messages ,some people saying swap, some saying keep it cos the technology's not particularly that different and new boards arent necessarily better than the oldies.

think im probably gonna do it but cant help thinking id regret it one day knowing my luck.

dan.

The Havoc has a good rep and I think the fleetwood does too. I'm still interested in why the guy has such a hard on for the old board. Did he fess up?

well, all he said is he sells them all day and he just wants it for his wall.-and i assume he gets em cheap as chips so its no real financial loss for him-just dont want to give away a super top of the range older board for a new mid/low end board.

?????
