Been in the market for a new board for a last couple seasons and having a hard time making a decision. I currently ride a Forum Youngblood from 2006 so it's a traditional camber board and needs an update. I love the way the board performs and want to find something with a similar flex and stability, but in the new rocker camber / doubledog design. Youngblood is a good all mountain board for me that will handle the park (small jumps, but mainly boxes and rails) when I want to go there, but still handles fast free riding. I've talked to a few people that said the rocker design will feel softer so to get the same flex as the traditional camber to go with medium/stiff or medium. I am not looking for a noodle that will be unstable for normal runs, but need a true twin since I ride both ways. Anyone have experience with the new rocker camber designs and can provide more insight on the technology? I'm demoing the NS Evo and SL (not true twin though) today to get a feel for them.
Boards on my list Never Summer Proto Forum Destroyer Doubledog Lib / Gnu C2BTX with medium (6) flex Rome Agent Rocker Never Summer Evo (think this will be too soft with rocker design) Forum Youngblood Doubledog (might also be too soft with rocker design) |
