Ride Compact or Promise?

Hi all,

Im a newbie to the forum and to snowboarding and trying to decide on my first board. Im between Ride Compact and Promise, tho leaning towards to Compact.. Can you please advice? Can you also suggest alternatives if you think the above are not suitable for a first board?
Im a beginner but I would prefer a board that would grow into me rather than having to change at the end of the season, but at the same time not to make it too difficult for me to get started - i.e. not too stiff

Many Thanks!

If you could provide more detail about your shoe size, weight, age(in case you're young and might still grow) what you plan on riding mainly all these will help in the decision on a board.

I'm on the beginner end of the spectrum and I have an 09 Compact. This is my first season with it so I can't say anything about it growing with you as you progress, but I do really like it so far. I can at least tell you it's about a million times better than the rental boards I used to ride.

Hi all, thanks for the replies. I went for the new Compact 147cm and DVa bindings medium. On its way so I'll post back once I've given it a Ride
