First wax

Alright so Ive bought 2 boards prior to buying the one I just picked up. A no-namer and a Salomon drift rocker. When I got those two I felt like there was no/not enough of a wax on the base so I had them hot waxed before use.

Just got my Rossignol JDUB and there seems to be a good finish. I want to know does anyone insist on a wax before use or is it dependent on what the factory puts on it?

Two options:

1.Wax it before you ride it.
2.Don't wax it before you ride it.

Option 1 is good. Option 2 is also ok, just watch for the edges getting dry, then wax it.

Factory wax doesn't usually last very long, or at all, as it's usually just a machine wax, not a hot wax.

I could care less if Travis Rice personally waxed my board before it got to me, I will still wax it myself. Maybe it is just me, but I really enjoy the time spent waxing my board the night before the next days shredding, and the fact that I know it was done up to my standards.

Awesome looking setup!

Not everyone agrees with me but unless it has been chest deep for a few days I was my board every weekend.

If conditions change drastically I'll wax my board the morning of.

I only hotwax and generally try to be temperature specific.
