Need help with board size - Snowboarding Forum

I'm still what I would think a newbie to riding and are looking to purchase a new board but am unsure on what size I need. So far I've kinda got my sights set on a atomic hatchet, I rode one and really liked it however I don't know what size it was. Anyway I'm 6ft 168lbs with a size 10 boot. Was thinking 159 would be about right or should I maybe go for a 156? Thanks for any help

im 6ft i have a 156 and a 159 snowboard. Its really not that much difference in size. if you mostly park and halfpipe prolly the 156 but all around i would think the 159.

At this point mostly a freeride type rider but can see I will make my way into more freestyle riding as well which is why I liked the Hatchet.

You'll want a smaller board for freestyle...I'd got with a 156, as you're well within it's weight range according to Atomic's site.
