Default Backyard Box

Hey i'm new to this site (just got my account 3 days ago) and have a few questions. I was wondering what you guys have seen/done to make a homemade box without any plastic on top. I have seen videos where they just have plywood on top but it looks like they put some kind of coating on it. Could you please offer suggestions and ideas. There is probably a thread on this already but any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Most people put a urethane clear coat on just plain plywood, i would suggest using plexiglass or hdpe(High-density polyethylene) sheets on the box especially hdpe because thats what most resorts use

I would use plastic but im trying to stay cheap. By urethane clear coat you mean just like the stuff that comes in a can and is a liquid. or this stuff
Deft 02313 13oz Clear Polyurethane
