Bataleon TBT for beginers - Snowboarding Forum

I know there's been a bunch of threads on this, but I wanted to get a few more opinions. I'm torn between getting a Bataleon board or a regular flat leaning towards the capita black snowboard of death. First of all I guess you guys should know. I'm not a complete noob, this is my second season, been to the slopes about 10 times so I'm starting to really hit some steeper runs. Is it better for my first board to be a flat board? I'm definitely into a more cambered board and I've demoed a bunch; flying V, t rice power, an old option camber board, and some others. Also I've been wanting to start trying out some jumps, and heard TBT is very forgiving in that aspect.

Any ways,

TL;DR: Looking to buy first board, want to hear people thoughts on TBT for beginners.

BSOD might not be used to full potential for you in your 2nd year.
Try out the Bataleon, it'll be nice. No edge catch, and still have camber board.

I started off on a rental camber, and then went and bought my own ET. I have to say that I prefer it a lot better. Only gripe I have with it is that I find it a little difficult on harder patches to maintain an edge, but that's just because I'm extremely light for my height.

That's interesting I was looking at the ET myself. What do you use it for mainly? Hear its a good park board, but how does it perform freeriding?

I'm actually a little afraid of going into the park, afraid I'd stick a landing and break something

Freeriding wise, it is true that it seems to dry up quickly (drop in speed after 2 full days of boarding), but it still does well.

I've taken it onto well-travelled snow (all packed and what not) and after getting over the irrational fear of scraping my board up I find that it performs on both turns and just gliding. I've also tried it on powder and it floats really well.
