Ride Machete - Bought Wrong Size?

Hey guys,

I'm 6'0", 180 lbs, 10.5 boot and bought myself a Ride Machete 158 (regular) at the end of last season. I just gave it a spin this past weekend in Colorado and was happy with it, but I felt a little shaky at high speeds and a higher amount of chatter than expected. Granted, I'm relatively new - been boarding one season now (been 8 times), so perhaps its my noobness.

Curious though - is 158 typically too small for a person my size? I don't ride pow very often, and do not do parks or tricks - I carve, and sometimes go off trail in powder. I'm wondering if I should have gotten the 160 or the 162 (don't think I need the wide)?

158 should be absolutely fine for you. I have no experiences with your particular board but I guess it's about the inexperience dealing with chatter.

this is a smooth board with slimewalls for dampening, 158 is fine for your weight. Just use your lower body with more flex to let the board move up and down with the bumps more.

Your knees and ankles work as your shock absorbers, if you stand tall and straight you will feel every bump and get bounced around.
