I'd like to hear your thoughts on getting the 161 Machete wide vs the 164 Wide.
I'm around 210 pounds, 6 foot and size 12. Intermediate, riding piste, some park and some pow. I'm around the top weight range for the 161, but like the fact that it'll be more nimble in the air. On the flip side, the 164 will be better in pow and carving. Any thoughts, what would you go for? Cheers |

I'll start off by saying, if you're an experienced rider, go with what you have found to suit you well in the past.
With that out of the way. I'd go with the 161. I'm 6' tall and about 210-215 pounds, also with size 12 boots and my all mountain/do it all deck is 161 (rocker hybrid) and I wouldn't go any bigger unless perhaps it were strictly an off piste/powder board. Seeing as how (from the sounds of it at least) you're looking for an all mountain deck and we're of similar stature, I would highly suggest going with 161 in length over 164. The 164 with a flat/rocker may make for a slightly better pow ride, but while negatively affecting other aspects of your riding. For me, I wouldn't go any bigger than 161 with that board and it's intended purposes. Last edited by tdn; 02-07-2012 at 12:39 PM. |
