I run a size 12 on a 249 and don't have any problems, just make sure you have equal toe and heel overhang. Shouldn't be more than about an inch and a half give or take depending on board/boot/binding shape. Reduced footprint boots can help too.

As long as you can tilt the board on the ground past angles that you will ride it at without the toe or heel touching the ground you should be good.

I attempted a 251mm with size 11 boots and it just didn't work. Especially in powder that's a little on the heavier side, your toes stick out and just create so much drag it actually made me front flip one time. I honestly just prefer wider boards in general.

I personally would never go below 252mm with a size 11 boot. You may be able to make it work with some shrinkage tech, but it's close....

I ride a size 10 on a 24.9 board, and it works well on hard pack days. When the snow softens up, like yesterday when it was 45 degrees out, my toes and heels will drag. I'd recommend a 25.5 for an 11.
