Question about upcoming summer sales

When (in terms of time of year) is the best time to buy snowboarding gear on deep discount? Late winter? Early spring? Summer?

Where is the best place to buy it? Online? If so, which sites?

Stores get new gear in Fall, so mid Summer is a pretty good time for clearance.

Stuff will get cheaper, stock will sell out. You walk the fine line of saving money vs missing out on your item the longer you wait.

Don't know how prevalent this is, but at least some stores in Vancouver will warehouse their unsold stuff for the summer then have clearance sales in mid-september.
