GNU Riders Choice

I am interested in the PTX version of that board and was looking for some feedback.
I'm looking for an all mountain true twin with MTX, so that fits the bill. The TRS would be the other option but the GNU has a sintered base and the asymmetrical sidecuts so I was leaning that way. My only problem is that the topsheet of the PTX (blue denim) looks pretty fugly.
I don't buy boards just because I like the topsheet, but I also have a hard time shelling $500 for a board that makes me want to throw up.
The 2013 looks pretty sick though. On that note, does anyone know if there are any differences between the 2012 ptx and the 2013?
