Should I sell the Evo?

Just got back from Tignes.

I'm a hair under 5'11" and a hair over 180lbs (just for reference). When abroad, I love riding off of the pistes and freestyling about and generally seem to find new ways to tear my base apart. But am basically everywhere but the park (that is, until I'm in the domes where I mainly hit the kickers and rails and boxes all day long)

Rode for 6 full days, 5 on the Proto 157 and 1 on the Evo 154.

Firstly, FUCK I LOVE THAT PROTO!!!! That said, I didn't find the boards to be very different at all. I'm sure you'll all jump up and tell me that's mental but I'm finding it hard to justify having two boards which I feel are damn near identical - unless the Evo is going to completely rip up the domes where I had been previously using a Skate Banana 156.

I thought that the Evo was going to be seriously noticeably softer than the Proto but feel that it really wasn't! I'm beginning to think I should have gone for a 152 (as the 2009 151 I tried seemed so much more fun and soft). Or just gone with a different board altogether......

Thoughts anyone? Even just at home when flexing them I thought they were worryingly similar..... Did I happen to pick up an odd Evo with a stiffer flex than it should have had??

Cheers

If it's a real goose, is it propaganda?

You may have answered your own question there. The 151 would be softer and more noticeably shorter than the 154 for sure. The 154 is probably too close to the proto. I guess think about if you like riding shorter softer boards enough to justify trading for something smaller.

I'm 5'11 160lbs, I have a 152 evo. I rode it about 4 times, where are you located? I might trade you for that 154, if you're up for it.

Yeah, would defo go for swap but I am located in UK. I'm supposing you are US? Cheaper prices for shipping can be found but it takes a bit of patience. Lemme know!

i havent had the chance to ride a proto, but i went from a 157 danny kass gnu to a 153 evo and i couldnt be happier. the difference is worlds apart - the kass was a pipe board and this board is soooooo much softer, more playful and way way way poppier.. the thing i notice most about it though is how torsionally soft it is.. i can really whip this board around. if you decide to sell your evo let me know, i might just want another one for when this one is beat to death lol
