Need Size Advice for a Freeride board

Hey all, first time posting.

I recently started riding and I would like to take advantage of the end of season sales and get my own board. I am about 6' with my boots on and wear a size 12 Burton Ruler boot. I weigh roughly 208lbs. I have Burton Cartel bindings if that matters. I was thinking something around a 162, but I am not sure what waist size I should be looking for.

I like the Rome boards specifically. If anyone could recommend a size and model.

Thanks in advance

Welcome!

We are about the same size height/weight/shoe.. you will want a wide to midwide board. Probably nothing less than 26.3 width or so. I just ordered a Rome Flag 168 for freeride. I debated over the 163 to make turns easier but decide that the extra length would be a benefit on the deep snow. Hell it's only 5cm difference... I think I can overcome that minimal difference. There is a similar Rome board called the Manual that is a wide board also. Check out their website for more details.

Here are all the boards I was considering based on research:

Rome Flag
GNU 11-up magnatraction
Nitro Revolt
Sana Cruz Largo
Arbor Mystic
Ride Decade Wide
Ride Fleetwood

These are just some options.. tons more out there.

Good luck!

Generally a mid wide at least, unless your stance width is narrower and/or your stance angles are closer to parallel. (I have an 11.5 boot with a 22 inch stance width with 18, -12 angles and have run a 25.2 waist width with no problems.) If you're remotely similar i'd say a 25.5 waist width would be safe.

As for a specific recommendation, you'd have to list if you prefer freeriding or freestyling, or list your rough percentages done for each.
