Just get the Evo. The Evo isn't a "park board". To me, it's a lot like the Blacklist or Westmark. You can take that thing anywhere on the mountain, and it works great in the park. But because the contruction, and the edge tech, the board can ride anywhere, and doesn't experience huge downfalls on those non-powder days. Great board.

I consider the Proto to be more of a jump board. But wouldn't use it in the park for much more than that.

Basti, thanks for the recommendation, couldn't find one anywhere online... went to Showcase and they had a 159 and 161 left. Wasn't walking in ready to buy a board today, but grabbed the 161 for a pretty good deal.

Congrats! I got mine at Showcase as well and the price is pretty good, considering we're in BC .

Enjoy, you're gonna have a lot of fun with it!

Anybody know where I could possibly find a 2012 Proto CT in 154?

Boardroom has one demo board leftover... $419 minus "about $50" demo discount they said, but it's a little beat up.

The lift is a big issue with the Malavitas which has been documented in this forum a few times. Some people don't care but it annoyed me a lot.

I'm aware that Burton owns Forum and I know that the Shaka is supposed to be Forum's Malavita but the bindings don't feel like they were developed in the same lab. For example, the Shaka has an aluminium heel cup which is actually customizable. Both isn't the case with the Malavitas.
I never said they are the same disc. I said virtually same design. The hinge aspect is what I'm referring to. The buckles however are 100% Burton.

Eh, I didn't notice anything wrong with the Malavitas. If there's a toe/heel lift, it wasn't obvious to me. But then again, I'm not a jib master...
