Most discussions about this stick ends up with a discussion on the raptor or the heritage :)

I just wanted to know if its really that much of a beast that no intermediate freedrider should even try? Its made for freeriding, its made to last and it looks awesome. I just want to know before i drop $350 on it that I am not biting off more than I can chew?

I am 6 ft, 185 lbs.

why can't you demo one? If I were you I wouldn't get it because it's really meant for advanced freeriders but maybe you won't have too hard a time with it and you'll like it. If you can't demo it, you could just get it and then return it if you don't like it.

The Premier should not be to advanced for you. The Raptor has a more powder specific RC profile then the Premier and that along with the carbonium topsheet is why more people suggest the Raptor in my opinion. If you like laying carves and high speed you should enjoy the Premier. If you deal with deep powder a lot then the Raptor might be a better choice.

Demoing one on the east coast right now is hard since all the slopes are shut down. Only way to demo one is to make a trip or wait till next season.

I'd classify myself as a beginning-intermediate and ride a Premier (2nd season). It was a bit of an adjustment coming from a camber noodle my first season to the Premier. But, I was soon comfortable enough to ride in the trees and bomb the hills comfortably (45mph speeds). To be honest, I love the board and would happily buy it again.
