hello everybody.I'm beginner and could you give me some advice about the following: 1) what size of board is suitable for me if my height is 6''2'(188cm),and weight 180lbs(82kg) for allmountain style?
2)i'm going to buy GNU riders choice snowboard. my approximate size is 162cm but on official site they reccomend me to ride riders choice 3cm shorter than my regular board. has it any importance if i buy a board of 162cm long?

what is the difference between the two? which one do you reccomend me to buy?

4)and finally is GNU riders choice really comfortable and suitable for beginners? Do you reccomend me to buy this model? if you do not, could you tell me which one is the best to buy?

I have never heard of "CTX" it's possible that's just a typo. The "BTX" stands for "banana technology" which is their reverse camber shape. The "C2" designates two camber zones outside the binding insert packs. EC means elliptical camber on some of their boards (like the Attack Banana EC2BTX etc.)

Riders Choice probably not the greatest board for a beginner I think you would save a bunch of $$$ and might be better suited on the Gnu Carbon Credit BTX.

if you are 12 or lower in shoe size i would go with 157.5cm (if i got the sizes right only one bigger is 161.5)
if you have cash to spend then do it,but it all depends on your lever not saying that it should matter at all but if you are new to snowboarding then you should rent if not get a good board and enjoy...i would even suggest you getting a 157 proto ct and having a board that is going to last for ages and do you good

I weigh the same as you almost and ride a blunted 154 (maybe 157 without the blunts). I would stay below 160 if I was you.

well, i decided to buy GNU riders choice. but i've not decided what size to buy yet.. because GNU sized 158wide (which is suitable for me)costs more then 50$ then GNU sized 160 wide. is it really worth to buy cheaper one? does it makes me any real problem if it is more than my ordinary size?

Are you buying used? Or just different sites/stores that only have one size? I find it odd that the sized are different prices unless you are buying them from different sources.

Anyway, the 2cm difference isn't a huge deal, so if the $50 is a big deal to you then the 160 would be fine. If it were me, I'd rather pay $50 to get the board I felt was best. But if your budget is a concern I wouldn't worry too much about the extra 2cm.

already been said, but you seem to ignore so let me repeat:

If you are a beginner, as you say, the Rider's choice would most likely not be a good board for you. It will really be harder to learn on this board.

Why is that?

The Rider's Choice seemed to be a slightly softer all mountain board. What about it makes it hard to use? The TRS perhaps, as that's a little more stiff.

The Lib TRS is definitely not a beginner board. As a beginner why would you get a stiffer board? In general if you are starting out you want a softer board because it will be more forgiving. The Riders choice is C2btx and medium stiffness. C2 isnt very forgiving when it comes to mistakes in riding and the Riders Choice is aimed more toward the aggressive rider.

Its been mentioned before that the Carbon Credit would be a better beginner board if sticking with GNU.

The TRS is definitely not a beginner board as it's stiffer. I worded it ambiguously.

Why is the C2 not as forgiving? The camber sections? I don't know, my friend on a Riders choice found it quite soft.

I say fuck it, it'll last him longer. He's only going to be learning a few days after that then what. I learned on a stiff cambered Technine. It's not impossible just do it.

Don't get the 162 though that's way big. Go for the 157.5
