Please help me decide on NS Summit 161cm upgrade!

I'm deciding between the two boards below and plan to buy in the next 2 days. I'm around 165 pounds , 5 ft 7', size 10 feet,

I ride in Japan Niseko area where powder snow is extremely light. Only go offpiste once in a while.

The 161cm Neversummer Summit 161cm have served me well for the past couple years but it's a bit on the heavy side. Looking for a replacement now that I'm going to the states for 1 week and can pick up a board.

My current setup for regular stuff is:
2011 Libtech Travis Rice 157cm
Burton Cartel 2010 Large
Vans Fargo Size 10

For powder, i go with:
2007 Neversummer Summit
Burton Cartel 2010 Large
Vans Fargo Size 10

Here are the two boards i'm thinking.

1) NeverSummer Summit 2012 167cm from dogfunk - Never Summer Summit Snowboard from Dogfunk.com
2) Atomic Sir Floatalot 2012 163 cm from Amazon - Amazon.com: Atomic 2012 Sir Floatalot Snowboard: Sports & Outdoors

Given my riding style, which board will suit me more?

Thanks

I would like to try that atomic to see what its like. Why are you looking at a 167 and a 153? Or is that just to show the boards not necessarily the size.
Yes neversummers are heavy boards.
You ride niseko but dont go off piste much?
Are you doing euro carves or butters and spins?
You have supplied a pretty random description of how you ride and 2 VERY different boards that you are looking at.

Sorry it's 163cm for atomic

I do 50 /50 off piste and trail run

I ride in Nozawa in Nagano.

I like the look of that NS Summit and its a very good deal.

Are you going with the 161cm?

should be good at your weight.

I know nothing of the other board, but I like NS a lot and they make super reliable quality boards as you know.

I ride an NS now and have ridden an atomic in the past. NS is way better built and just feels like more thought has gone into it from people who love snowboarding.

in my opinion 161cm is way to much board for you...i am just short of 6'4" and i ride proto 160cm and its just right

Since he'll be using the board for light fluffy DEEP powder a 161 will work. He can probably go even longer depending on how nimble he wants it to be vs. floaty. The Proto comparison doesn't really apply as he's looking for a dedicated pow stick and hight really has no impact on board size.

It would be hard to go wrong with the NS though if you can find one the Jones Hovercraft could be a cool option.

+1. I am a little taller (5'9") but lighter (145-155lbs) than the OP and ride similar sized boards (155-159) for the day-to-day stuff. But for big powder days in Niseko I pull out the 163 Sick Stick.

I definitely like something more floaty this time around.

sir floatalot seems to have reverse sidecut. Does this ride more like a travis rice banana hammock than a malolo or a summit?

I never rode any reverse sidecut board. Will this be difficult to ride on trail runs?

I have never ridden the Sir Floatalot, but I think it only has reverse sidecut at the tip and tail (not throughout the board like the Banana Hammock).
