Do boards increase in price later this year?

As the season approaches, do boards typically increase in price? I'm looking at buying last years model and I'm worried that it's "sale" price will be gone.

No, they typically decrease in price. Especially previous years models.

Oh yeah!? Well, my mom says I'm cool!

Nope.

Those shops want last year's shit gone. The only danger would be the closer we get to the season, more people will be looking for gear and other people may jump on that deal first.

What a lot of places will do is warehouse their unsold stuff at the end of the season. The next September they haul that stuff out and have a blow-out sale (with the new stuff at full price of course). If you can resist the siren-call of the new stuff, you can get good deals. I got a brand new Special Blend Goretex jacket last Sept for a really stupid price. Worth waiting for.

They decrease later in the year. Some shops have new arival sales or something similar tho. I just bought my new ride triad boots at aspin ski and board and got them at 20% off during a 2013 gear new arival sale.

Yep. Here in CO, Sports Authority calls is SNIAGRAB. They must own a fucking huge warehouse they stuff that shit in. There's a couple of decent deals on last year's shit, then a fuck ton of shit that's old as hell priced like it was last year's stuff. But, they hype the hell out of it and sell a ton of that old shit and laugh all the way to the bank.

I hear March and October are the best times to buy stuff as the retailers try to sell their inventory at the end of the season and then try to unload last year's stuff.

Towards the end of the season is generally the best time to buy. Retailers start slashing prices to clear out room for next year's stuff, but there's still a decent selection of gear out there. By this time of the year, you're getting pretty slim pickings when it comes to last year's stuff.
