alright im 6' 160lbs and wear a size 11 boot and im plannin on gettin a new board for next season, planning on riding a bit of park but still wanna play around on the rest of the mountain. i test rode my friend's 158 burton royale and I liked how much easier to spin and how it held up at higher speeds but it was a little to stiff.

any suggestions on a a board similar to the royale but a little flexier also wide to accommodate size 11 boots.

With size 11 boots you may be able to get away with a standard width board depending on the actual footprint of your boot and the angle of your stance. Also, at 160 lbs, the 158 may be a little long for a freestyle board which would make it feel more stiff so the Royale could still be an option if you go with a smaller board...just something to think about.

I've got size 12 boots and after researching for a new wide board I ended up with the GNU 11up which is labled as a freestyle board but has enough stiffness for all mountain riding. I looked at the Royale quite a bit and if I remember correctly, the 11up may have been a little more flexy.

Also take a look at the Rome Slash, Ride Dose, K2 After Black, GNU CHB wide, and I know Lib Teck has one or two freestyle boards with wide options, just can't remember which...maybe the Dark Series. These are all wide boards so they will be a little wider than the Royale which is a mid-wide.

I never looked at that board, but it looks like (based on reading about the board) it is a little more pure freestyle and the K2 After Black (mentioned above) is a little more freeride freindly. The anagram is probably a little better for buttering/rails than your friend's Royale but not as stable at higher speeds. It just depends on what you are looking for.

alright so the slash is prolly gonna be the one to get now im ust torn between the 156 and 158 not sure which im gonna get yet, as far as bindings go you guys know anything about the 390s

Don't make any decisions based on what I say (especially about a board I've never tried) so hopefully you've done your research and checked all your options, but the Slash is probably a pretty good option for you. You are probably fine with either the 156 or 158...not much difference. The smaller board may feel a little softer so that's your choice.

I just bought a pair of 390s late this season and they are great. They are first an foremost a freestyle binding so they have decent flex, but you can adjust them to be a little stiffer if needed. They're not stiff enough for hardcore freeride, but I use them all over the mountain and they work great. I really like the conformist toe strap that can be used on the top of the boot or on the toe as a cap. It conforms around the toe of your boot when it is tightened so it has great hold but stays real comfy. You can also check the Rome Targas or Arsenals for a stiffer options. Definatley get size L/XL with size 11 boots.
