Bataleon TBT vs Rome Nohang-ups 3D camber profiling - Snowboarding Forum

Anyone have experience on either one of these?

The TBT seems a little more exaggerated the 3D camber profiling but it appears to be the same idea...

Which would be better for the park mainly?

Any input would be greatly appreciated

You can't really just say on tech is better than another. It depends on which boards you're looking at.

Well the Evil Twin is looking really tempting but after checking out the Rome CrossRocket I'm not sure..

I'm getting a Camrock board (Yes. The Greats) for all mtn so I'm mainly looking at this one for park (mostly jumps, some rails and the occasional butter) but its seems that the Bataleon ET is leaned more towards that but then again Rome Crossrocket seems like it might be more stable and versatile for park and freestyling all around and that's always good i don't know :-/

The Butterknife is also standing out anyone that been on a Rome and Bataleon with this tech that has some input here would really help me out.

Well BA called the Cross Rocket a deathstick. Wasn't fond of the Butterknife either.

He did however give the Shank a runner up in the all around park slayer category for his Best Good Platinum Wood Test Award Picks.

If you want a Rome to compliment your Greats try that. If Bataleon the Airobic or Whatever.

Yeah I saw that but other review say different so I'm really don't know which is accurate.. The shank seemed to good across all the reviews but not the best for jumps from what I read but who knows

And u saying Airobic or Whatever hu heard a lot about the Evil Twin what u think about that compared to the other 2?? I do want something with some play on it but not too much so it's still somewhat stable at speed

Great to see this question.

A few major differences to keep in mind:

All TBT boards are fully cambered. The center running surface on all models is wide point to wide point. Nohang-ups comes on Flat Rock and Rocker Camber Rocker models. Both of these have a running surface that is shorter than wide point to wide point. This changes the feel of the board a lot.

TBT uses three "bases", the center of which remains uniform in width for the length of the TBT area. Rome uses a diamond shape so that the center "base" widths vary from tip to inserts.

It's seems like the Bataleon TBT design is more stable all around I think the 3d design on the Rome doesn't have enough contact with the snow at any point in time but I hate to judge it with testing it out first

You better test it. It really depends on the board too from what I've read. Snowolf reviewed a Bataleon board go check it out in the review forum. I think he found the edgehold ... odd to say the least.

That is surprising for a camber board and all, great review I gotta say makes me think about Bataleon boards but then again the review on the Rome boards with 3d has some bad reason about edge hold :-/
