Need advice on board choice (freeride/freestyle)
Hey fellow shredders, I'm 5"11, 225lbs, 12 boot. I ride Alaska backcountry 80% of the time. And realize my little 158w banana magic wasn't cutting it. Here are my board choices after doing some research (in no preferable order besides size):

164w Yes pick your line
164 ride slackcountry UL
163w jones flagship carbon (wll entertain normal flagship if carbon is sold out)
163w k2 slayblade
162w burton custom x
162 capita black snowboard of death
161.5 lib tech T. rice pro horsepower

Any other board suggestions will help and or any input. I'm pairing one of these boards with a choice of:

Flow NX2-SE
Union force SL
burton diode

Well obvioiusly if the Carbon is on your list then price is not an issue.

I don't think you need the Carbon. To be honestly I don't even think Jones NEEDS the carbon. So I'd say just shoot for the regular Flagship.

I'd also look into the Flow Maverick. It's there new gnarly big moutain board. Similar to the Solitude but PowCam instead of PowRock. More grip and more power. Its the new choice of the team for AK. You saw it a lot at Tailgate AK.

And I might say try the Ultra Dream over the the Slayblade. It'll just give you easier float.

For bindings skip the NX2 Se's and just go for the RS's. I'm personally not impressed with the hybrid strap.

If you're looking for a blend of repsonse and top end flexibility for the surfy slashes, the Company IPO from K2 might suit you well. Or if you surf a ton check out the Salomon Hologram, same theory as the old Relays but vastly refined and now they ride well if you like the heel play. Lastly for bindings, NOW. Jones is on them, a good chunk of the YES team... they work. They give your more leverage over your edges and are a very smooth ride.
