I bought a NS Heritage earlier this fall and I have been dying to try it out. I know that WROD and early season conditions are less than optimal and risk damaging the board due to bad snow coverage. The question is, should I just save it until the initial cluster fu@k of early season is over and there is some better coverage/snow to finally try it out or should I take it to opening day?

Meh, not too big of a chance doing major damage on the WROD other than some idiot hitting you. Most of the worst core shots come from getting a little over eager early on to get off the groomers.

Its for destroying so you can get another one, not mounting on your wall.
Last year it was WROD on the whole mountain. I had a brand new Proto, and the bottom and rails are utterly shredded. I mean its in great condition, but I have a core shot, some serrations on my edges and some nice big scratches. Not like it rides different, its got about 50 days on it and barely broken in I'd say.
