I have a big mtn board and am completely satisfied. I am looking for something to hit everything. No park just natural features. I like speed so edge hold confidence is key. These 3 boards have interested me. Any owners of these have anything particularly good or bad to say about any of them?

I love my proto but haven't ridden enough other boards to see if those can make me grin this way.
I will undoubtedly get another one when I have shredded this thing down to the core (which I will do).

As such the proto is actually my park/all-mtn board leaning a lot more towards park. Personally, if I was going to pick one board for all-mtn/freeride or even all-mtn/freestyle I'd choose the Jones from those in your list. Admittedly I'm not a huge fan of gnu/lib because of the lack of metal edges on the tip and tail.

i have a NS Proto (40 days) and a Lib T. Rice Pro (120 days). T. Rice is much more stiff and now, after i picked up a Proto, I only use it for big powder days, big drops, steeps, or when I know I will be carving up hardpack all day. Proto is more for mucking around on natural features. More playful, still can carve hard, but not as stiff as the T. Rice.
I would go for the Proto. T. rice is more of what you already have. |
