Can I fix this board? - Snowboarding Forum

Hi,

At the end of the season here in Australia my buddy and I was messing around an old wooden platform and we ride over it. We tossed a lot of snow on top of this platform and we didn't realize that there was a rusty metal bit sticking out and we ride over it and both of our boards got scratches on them. My board was't not as severe as my friend's board. You can see the damage it has done to the board and wondering if it can be fixed? his board got a deepest marks and it went right through his board and you can see the wood part exposed. I do not have the pictures of his, but this is my board and it is a 2013 GNU Carbon Credit.

I was thinking of heating the part sticking and and fold it back? It will probably going to rob off anyway on rails or hard surface.

just over fill with p-tex, then shave off the overfill with a 1" really sharp wood chisel and wax

Thanks for the replies. I have never waxed a snowboard before, but have seem it done on YouTube. I will give it a crack.

Unicorn piss and Leprechaun jizz will bring it back from the dead, but it might become zombie board.

I have worse scratches than that in some of my boards that I haven't even bothered to getting around to fixing yet.

ptex is just gonna fall out of that tiny scratch. your buddy probably needs a serious repair job.

Very well might. Yeah, honestly I'd just trim the excess base p-tex away, wax it and call it good.
